Boom is correct, in this UE Boom 2 gear review, I have put my speaker through the ringer and it is still playing loud and strong. I studied electronics in college so when it comes to speakers and headphones I am picky with what I spend my money on. Something I have learned over the years is that almost anything created by Logitech is going to be top quality.

UE Boom 2 Gear Review
I’ve been jamming my UE Boom 2 non-stop since the day I picked it up in 2017. My last portable travel speaker stopped charging so I was in desperate need for a new music player on my upcoming adventure. As of now my UE Boom 2 has practically been on almost every day for over a year and it still holds a great charge and continues to produce a loud sound.
I need some form of background noise throughout my day and this speaker does not disappoint, producing a crisp 360 degree sound. At a moderate volume my UE Boom 2 runs an average of 20+ hours before needing to be charged. For party level, the 360 degree speakers put out a disturbing amount of sound. If someone else has a UE speaker you can connect them together! Actually you could connect up to 150 speakers!

UE Boom 2 Specifications
The UE Boom 2 is completely waterproof, shockproof and dust proof. Mine has survived island rains, countless days in the sand and even a bicycle crash.
Simple in its design, the UE Boom 2 comes with a charging port, aux port and carabiner clip. For buttons it the UE Boom 2 only has a power button along with increase and decrease volume buttons. In order to get full functionality out of your speaker you will need to download the app. The UE app allows you to turn your speaker on and off, connect multiple speakers and pause or skip songs with a tap of the hand.
Weighing 548g (19.33oz) it is not the lightest addition to your backpack but at a small size (180mm x 67mm) it does not take up too much space, less than a water bottle. For it’s small size it produces a massive 90 dba’s of 360 degree music.
UE Boom 2 Overview
For the average backpacker the UE Boom 2 produces plenty of sound to keep you and the hostel mates entertained without compromising on space. It is a little heavy, but that is understandable with the quality of sound it produces. For those space saving you could easily get by with the slightly smaller Wonderboom, which produces almost the same dba rating at 86 while saving over 100g of weight or you could even get by with the super tiny UE Roll, if portability is key.
Final thoughts on the UE Boom 2 Bluetooth Speaker
I hope you enjoyed this UE Boom 2 gear review. I love my speaker, it has been a great addition to my backpack, let alone my everyday life. If you are in the market for an all around, rugged, portable speaker, this is all you need.
