Guanajuato is a small mining town in Central Mexico with a rich history, one smelted in silver. This once industrial town is now a getaway for weekend and holiday travelers. During Guanajuato’s peak silver mining in the 1700’s, this area produced over one third of the world’s silver but now days it is known for its young bustling atmosphere, hosting a regional university, and it’s colorful, picturesque cobbled streets. These small streets along with the city’s rich architecture and near perfect weather make Guanajuato City a must see stop on your next Mexican adventure.
