Mount Merapi is not just any ordinary volcano. It is one of only 16 decade volcanoes in the world! Dubbed “The Mountain of Fire” Mount Merapi is Indonesia’s most active volcano. It has clockwork like eruptions, with smaller eruptions occurring every 2 to 3 years and a major eruption every 10 to 15 years!
This is a difficult hike with quickly changing weather but it’s stunning views are priceless. I hope you enjoyed this post about Hiking Mount Merapi in 15 Photos.
